SpeedQuizzing can be played as a solo player or as a team by sharing a device.
1) Search for SpeedQuizzing on the Apple app store or Google Play store.
2) Be careful to download SpeedQuizzing with the Orange icon and NOT SpeedQuizzing Virtual Buzzer with the blue icon.
3) Kindle Fire users will need to download the app using this link as it is not yet on the Amazon app store.

SpeedQuizzing is an interactive quiz game hosted from a laptop by Shooting Star Staff and guest wanting to play Trivia only need a smartphone or tablet to do so! Note: Only one smart device is required per quiz team. Teams can be any size, even a solo team of ONE! Players take part in the same way they would a pen and paper quiz, but instead of pens and paper, each team uses a free app on their smart device, with us reading questions from our laptop. To do trivia we only need a few things, a laptop, powered speaker, microphone, and a TV or two so that your guests can see the questions, answers, or current team scores.

How is SpeedQuizzing the same as a traditional pub quiz?
1) We use a microphone to read the questions.
2) Quiz teams sit around tables answering questions. In addition to the professionally written quiz questions which are provided from Speedquiz (updated & new), we can optionally create our own additional content which can be loaded into the SpeedQuizzing hosting software. Note: (Extra rounds are easy to make and can include picture questions as well as music questions using our own or provided personal MP3s.

How is SpeedQuizzing different to a traditional pub quiz? 1) Rather than having an unspecified amount of time to decide on an answer, teams are given a time-limit during which they input an answer using the keypad on their smart device screen. This gives players considerably less time to attempt to cheat! 2) Answers are submitted by a single tap on the device screen, i.e. first letter of the answer, or multiple-choice (A.B.C.D etc). 3) The answer is revealed after each question, rather than all together at the end of a round or the entire quiz. 4) Scoring is taken care of automatically by the laptop, with the leader-board being accessible throughout the event on one of the visiable TVs. 5) SpeedQuizzing uses sound effects which can be amplified through our sound system to create an upbeat lively atmosphere, more in keeping with a TV gameshow than a pen and paper quiz.

The Keypad game has become the best way to have Trivia with SpeedQuizzing. It is the closest to a traditional pub quiz, as well as being great fun in the classroom or workplace. We find the Keypad game adequate for all of your needs. Included are plenty of optional game variations to keep players interested and engaged. The Keypad game features three different question formats: 1) Multiple Choice, 2) Letters 3) Numbers. We read a question from the laptop screen followed by anywhere between two and six multiple-choice options. We include the corresponding letter when reading out the list of options. “A. London… B. New York..” rather than just saying “London…. NewYork..” The A,B,C,D,E,F layout means there is the flexibility to write questions with as few as two options, for instance A. True B. False… but also allows us to ask or create questions with up to six options. For Letters we read a question from the laptop screen. Generally we will have explained the rules of a Letters question at the beginning of the round whereby players simply need to input the first letter of the answer, omitting ‘The’ in answers such as ‘The Lion King’ and always using a person’s first name, example “P” for ‘Sir Paul McCartney’. For Numbers we read a question from the laptop screen. A Numbers question could be a four-digit year question or a maths question or anything else where a number can be an answer such as the age of a celebrity or the number of players on a particular sports team. The main way that a numbers question differs from Multiple Choice or Letters is that players must press Enter to submit their answer.

Trivia has three rounds of Trivia, which usually runs about an hour and half to two hours. and no show is ever the same, we purchase questions that are current to what is going on in the world during the time of your event. we also offer Bingo here and there to keep your guests even more amused between and after rounds!
